Driver Guide: Instructions for drivers

1. Sign up online

By creating a driver profile, please tell us a little bit about yourself and your vehicle.

2. Minimum vehicle requirements

Your vehicle must meet the requirements to drive with RideON Canada. There are many options available, check to see which ones your vehicle qualifies for:

  • Services are operational only in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, London, Sudbury.
  • Vehicles should not be more than 10 years old.
    A list of the five documents you must submit to apply are mentioned as below.
  • Take photos of the following documents and upload them to your account:
1) Driver’s License

25+ years old, Ontario G Driver’s License or equivalent (G1 or G2 is not allowed) with 3 years of minimum Canadian driving experience. If you’re uploading an interim license, please include a government-issued photo ID (e.g. previous driving license, passport etc.) in the same photo to verify your identity. Make sure to avoid using flash so that your information is clear and readable.

2) Proof of Work Eligibility

Birth certificate, Citizenship card, Passport, Permanent PR card, Work permit, Social Insurance Number card or letter, Study permit (if it declares the ability to work off-campus unrelated to program of study), Please submit a photo or the original document. Scanned copies are not accepted. Make sure to avoid using flash so that your information is clear and readable.
If you are uploading a work permit extension letter, upload the extension letter and your work permit in the same photo. If you are waiting for your renewed PR card, upload a photo of your current PR card and PR card extension letter.

3) Vehicle Registration

Both sides (Permit- Plate and Permit- Vehicle both) of the registration document are required. The car must also be in good condition with no cosmetic damage, have 4 doors, no commercial branding, and cannot be rebuilt or salvaged. When taking the picture, ensure that it is not blurry and that all four corners are visible.

4) SIN or HST/GST Document

Your employer uses your SIN to inform the government. This includes information about your income and the amount of income tax deducted. It also includes the amounts withheld for government benefit programs and services

5) Void cheque/Direct deposit information

You may be asked to provide a void cheque when setting up a payroll deposit or automatic payments. Since your account information is printed on each cheque, the void check can be used to set up an electronic link to your bank account.

5) A recent picture

A recent picture to upload to the driver’s profile.

3. Drivers Partner Agreement

A Drivers Partner Agreement is an agreement that has to be signed by the driver.

4. Background screening

After finishing your profile, take a few minutes to complete a background screening online. It will review your driving record and criminal history.

5. Account Activation

If the background check is clear. We proceed to activate the driver.
